Review Your Year

As the end of the year draws nearer, it is a good time to schedule a review of your brand’s business performance. You can begin by first recognizing what you achieved as an organization.

Make a list of your year’s achievements. By doing so, you will help motivate and inspire your team for the coming year.

Ask yourself and your team the following questions to get started:

  • What goals did we achieve? Why?

  • What challenges did we overcome? How?

  • What new customers did we acquire? How?

  • What were the bottom-line results we achieved?

  • What projects were successful? Why?

The Hows and Whys

Dig into the how’s and why’s to make your list of achievements as specific as possible.

As with your successes, use the following questions to identify failures over the past year and determine what needs to be done going forward to prevent a repeat performance.

  • What lessons did we learn this past year?

  • What decisions would we have changed?

  • What goals or projects did we not accomplish? Why?

  • What roadblocks or hurdles do we keep bumping into? Why?

  • What challenges did we fail to meet? Why?

When your lists are completed, use the information to guide your planning efforts for the coming year.
