Persuade Your Prospects
When it comes to lead generation and persuading your prospects or target audience to take action and contact you, there are four things to keep in mind:
Prospects have questions. And questions produce doubt or disinterest (the parents of inaction). So your prospects need enough information to answer their questions in order to be persuaded.
Prospects are skeptical. So you need to head them off at the pass with your strong brand purpose, positioning, and proposition regarding the unique character, impact, and cost-effectiveness of your work. As well, you’ll need to provide proof with relevant statistics, customer testimonials, and case studies.
Human interest sells. Nothing moves people to action more than answering, “What’s in it for me?”. Demonstrate how your work impacts PEOPLE like them. How are your prospects’ lives, at work or at home, improved and made easier by what you provide?
Mind any chance for misunderstanding. If there’s a way to misunderstand your marketing message, prospects will find it. They’ll miss important points if you don’t emphasize them. They’ll be thrown off by unfamiliar words, attempts to glaze over details, and any flaws or missteps in format and design. So choose wisely, get feedback, and incorporate any needed changes to establish your brand’s credibility.
